Nokia Mobile Phone Unlock & Hidden Feature codes

These Cell Phone Secret Codes will work on most Nokia Mobile Phones to activate/deactivate advanced hidden functions that you can’t change through the phone menu

One useful function that all Nokia’s I’ve owned have is “Cell Info Display” which can usually be found in the phones “Display settings” (eg: in a Nokia 1600) or “Phone Settings” (eg: in a Nokia 3315)

If your network supports it, when “Cell Info Display” is enabled, it will display the name of the base station your mobile is currently connected to on the screen eg: when I’m walking around the city it says “Sydney CBD” and when I’m at home it displays the name of my suburb.

Note:
To display “p” press “*” three times within one second, to display “w” press “*” four times within one second, to display “+” press twice “*” within less than a second

Code Function
*3370# / #3370# Activate / Deactivate Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) - Your phone uses the best sound quality but talk time is reduced my approx. 5%

Revealing the Headphone and Car-Kit menus
Please note that if you do these next tricks, the new menus can't be erased without retoring the factory default settings. To do these tricks you need to short-circuit the pins on the bottom of the phone next to where you plug in you charger.
1. To activate the "Headset" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "3" and "4". After a short time the word "Headset" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-6 is now enabled.
2. To activate the "Car" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "4" and "5". After a short time the word "Car" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-7 is now enabled.

THE REBOOT TRICK
This should work on all software versions of the 6110.
1. Go to the Calendar (Menu-8)
2. Make a note or reminder.
3. Enter some text into the edit box.
4. Hold "Clear" until the whole text is cleared, then press "Back".
5. Press "0". The main screen will now be showing but a space appears on the screen. (you can't see it)
6. Enter 4 digits (e.g. 1234).
7. Use the down arrow to move the cursor to the left side of the numbers and the space (Down arrow twice).
8. Now enter 6 digits and press the call button.
Wait for a few seconds, the screen should start to flash and reboots. It should also work on other menus like the "Profiles" menu.

EFR CALL QUALITY
To activate EFR (Enhanced Full Rate) Enter the code- *3370#
This improves call quality but decreases battery life by about 5%

To deactivate it, Enter the code- #3370#

THE JAMES BOND TRICK
If you short-circuit the left middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this just activate the "Automatic Answer" in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to "Mute". Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are saying.

NETWORK MONITOR
There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it, you'll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.
Check your software version. You can only continue if you have v4.33, v4.73 or v5.24.
Take apart the phone.
De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64).
Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file (Backup).
If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address "03B8" from "00" to "FF".
If you have v5.24 then change the address "0378" from "00" to "FF".
Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone,
Power on your phone and you should have "Net monitor" enabled.
The Network Monitor gives you the following information.
Carrier number
MS RX Level in DBM
Received signal quality
MS TX power level
C1 (Path loss criterion, used for cell selection and reselection). The range is -99 to 99.
RTL (Radio link timeout).
Timeslot
Indication of the transmitter status
Information on the Network parameters.
TMSI (Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity).
Cell identification (Cell ID, Number of cells being used).
MCC (Mobile country code)
MCN (Mobile network code)
LAC (Location area code)
Ciphering (On/Off)
Hopping (On/Off)
DTX (On/Off)
Discard cell barred information

CHECK SIM-LOCK
Note - If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do not need to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lock the phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one your phone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmit on GSM1800. To make a call on GSM1800 you need what is known as a "Dual band" phone. A dual band phone is able to transmit on both GSM900 and GSM1800, so they lock the phones so you can't use it with any other network simcard. If you find that your phone is locked you can try different software to unlock it. (we haven’t found one that works yet), or you can ask your service provider who will gladly exchange the 10 digit code.

This is how to check the status of the 4 different locks. Also don't try entering the wrong number, because after 3 times it will block the phone for good.
There are 4 different locks on your Nokia phone.
COUNTRY-LOCK
NETWORK-LOCK
PROVIDER-LOCK
SIMCARD-LOCK
The code to read out the sim-lock status of your phone is
#PW+(MASTERCODE)+(Y)#
# = DOUBLE-CROSS
W = PRESS "*" THREE TIMES
P = PRESS "*" FOUR TIMES
+ = PRESS "*" TWO TIMES
MASTERCODE = 1234567890
Y = NUMBER 1 TO 4
The master code is a secret code. The code has 10 digits, To read out the sim-lock status you can enter every combination you want!
"Y" Shows the status of the network-lock. Here you can enter a number from "1" to "4". The "4" is for the sim-card lock.

SIM-LOCK CHECKS
#PW+1234567890+1# = GIVES PROVIDER-LOCK STATUS
#PW+1234567890+2# = GIVES NETWORK-LOCK STATUS
#PW+1234567890+3# = GIVES COUNTRY-LOCK STATUS
#PW+1234567890+4# = GIVES SIM-CARD-LOCK STATUS

On the main screen type in:
*#06# for checking the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).
*#7780# reset to factory settings.
*#67705646# this will clear the LCD display (operator logo).
*#0000# to view software version.
*#2820# Bluetooth device address.
*#746025625# Sim clock allowed status.
#pw+1234567890+1# Shows if sim have restrictions.
*#92702689# - takes you to a secret menu where you may find some of the information below:
1. Displays Serial Number.
2. Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture
3. Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY)
4. Displays the date of the last repair - if found (0000)
5. Shows life timer of phone (time passes since last start)
*#3370# - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) activation. Increase signal strength, better signal reception. It also helps if u wants to use GPRS and the service is not responding or too slow. Phone battery will drain faster though.
*#3370* - (EFR) deactivation. Phone will automatically restart. Increase battery life by 30% because phone receives less signal from network.
*#4720# - Half Rate Codec activation.
*#4720* - Half Rate Codec deactivation. The phone will automatically restart
If you forgot wallet code for Nokia S60 phone, use this code reset: *#7370925538#
Note, your data in the wallet will be erased. Phone will ask you the lock code. Default lock code is: 12345
Press *#3925538# to delete the contents and code of wallet.
Unlock service provider: Insert sim, turn phone on and press vol up(arrow keys) for 3 seconds, should say pin code. Press C,then press * message should flash, press * again and 04*pin*pin*pin# \
*#7328748263373738# resets security code.
Default security code is 12345
Change closed caller group (settings >security settings>user groups) to 00000 and your phone will sound the message tone when you are near a radar speed trap. Setting it to 500 will cause your phone 2 set off security alarms at shop exits, gr8 for practical jokes! (works with some of the Nokia phones.) Press and hold "0" on the main screen to open wap browser.

Mobile Tricks

THINGS YOU NEVER KNOW YOUR CELLPHONE COULD DO...
IT WORKS..... ...

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for
survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

* The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112.* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an
emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112
can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
**Try it out.**

* Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have
remote keys?
*This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell
phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home,
call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile
phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your
keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,
and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you
can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Editor's Note: *It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our
Carover a cell phone!"*

Subject: Hidden Battery power

Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important
call and you don't have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery. To activate, press the keys *3370# your cell will restart with
this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This
reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

AND

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on
your phone:
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your
handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get
stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They
will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the
SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever
stole it can't use/sell it either

If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile
phones.
Please spread this useful information around

Do you want to try how to Access Free Wireless Internet Locations?

Learn to Access Free Wireless Internet Locations
wireless access

How to use your mobile phone as modem?

Access Free Wireless Internet Locations - some wireless modem or router connect to the Internet using the same cellular network as cellular phones use. Cellular networks exist in most areas so Internet access is more widely like of that of using cable modems in accessing Internet. Wireless Access to the internet allows you to check you email or look up your favorite site while waiting your flight at the airport or on the train or even stuck in a traffic.

Do you know that you can use laptop wireless internet access or desktop to the internet?

The reason for wireless access network exists in most mobile phone that has GPRS capabilities. You can also read my article on how to configure you Mobile phones entitled GPRS Setting. But for newly purchase sim you do not need to, because they are already enabled or you may check you WAP homepage from your smart or globe menu. Above icon will appear if you GPRS is activated or not. But if you homepage is OK you may proceed on the steps below please read them.

First you need to buy Bluetooth adaptor and install its software usually a disc is attach when you purchase it and read also the manual for that Bluetooth adaptor for more information about other features and instructions on how to install the software. And also how to connect or bond your Bluetooth device to pair with active one when you try to scan on your Bluetooth main menu. If installation is successful you must restart you pc to see the changes.

A Bluetooth main menu will be display after you restart your computer. Try searching for active Bluetooth device on the main menu and don’t forget to switch on your Bluetooth on your mobile phone. A confirmation is ask whether you accept the bonding or not from your pc. Some mobile phone can manage their files on desktop when you first ask for pairing it’s like connecting a cable from your desktop.

Note: Please don’t forget to turn off you Bluetooth if you not using because you may be attack by some intruder usually for those active Bluetooth device like for mobile phone.

To establish internet connection you must have sufficient load or you may encounter error like connection cannot be found if you lunch your internet browser. You may refer the charges from your smart and globe manual when you purchase your sim.

GPRS - General Pocket Radio Service

Thursday, December 17, 2009 John Henry Gaspay

What is gprs?
GPRS or General Pocket Radio Service is a mobile data service which is used in 2nd generation phone. It is the same as 3G Phone or 3rd generation. But today's new Generation already uses WIFI which is more faster and gives access to internet especially to the trending Social Media Sites.

What is WAP?
WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is important to make you more convenient than going to the internet that if you don’t have at home. So the important of this feature nowadays is really helpful especially if you have a bank account to transact for more secure and comfortable. This quick and simple tutorial for wap settings below which I myself even tried and tested. Please read it.

If your SIM card is previously activated using other phones specially those phones supported by Globe and Smart, no need to activate your SIM. This is also valid for postpaid users since SIM cards are pre-activated for MMS, GPRS (GENERAL PACKET RADIO SERVICES) and other services.

But if your SIM is not yet activated or never been used for MMS and GPRS, you need to activate your SIM before you can use MMS and GPRS services.

For Smart SIM, you can use your China Phones to activate MMS and GPRS by simply sending/texting on the choice below usually you can activate that using your Smart or Globe

1.) Menu->SIM Connect->GSM->Select MMS/GPRS/3G->Activate OR

2.) MMS ON to 3401 OR

3.) MMS ON / GPRS ON to 333 OR

4.) 3G, MMS, GPRS text: Set and send to 211 Ex; Set N70 to 211

If your activation is successful you will receive a confirmation that you’ve been activated for that service. And an additional icon G will appear above stands for (GPRS) in line with other icon. So you can now proceed to the tutorial below.

No need to download the configuration for Smart. Just use the configuration below. For Globe SIM, this is a little bit harder and need some workaround. Globe provider cannot activate your SIM manually on their system and the only way to activate it is by downloading the configuration thru text or by asking them to send the configuration. But since China Phones are not yet supported by any Service Provider, what you can do is to active MMS and GPRS using another phone. Monitor until your SIM is activated then transfer your SIM in your China Phone
